Services Suspended Again


Further to the recent announcement by the Government about another national lockdown, services have been suspended once again with effect from Thursday November 5th. Services will therefore continue to take place on Sundays on Zoom at 10am. If you would like to join our online worship, please email

Whilst regular services have been suspended in church, St.Mary’s will remain open for private prayer on Wednesdays between 10am – 11am and Sundays between 11.30a .m. and 12.30 p.m.. Funerals are still allowed to take place and interments of ashes (subject to safe numbers being present).

On Sunday 4th October, we celebrated harvest both in church and online. Those attending church brought donations of food and toiletries for the Warrington Foodbank (see attached photo) and those attending online were invited to make financial donations to the Foodbank instead. Many thanks to all who contributed.

Prayer for the Current Coronavirus Crisis

Keep us, good Lord,
under the shadow of your mercy
in this time of uncertainty and distress.
Sustain and support the anxious and fearful,
and lift up all who are brought low;
that we may rejoice in your comfort
knowing that nothing can separate us from your love in Christ Jesus our Lord.    Amen.

Jeremy Tear

(Pioneer Team Vicar)


Jeremy was licensed as Team Vicar in September 2015 and became the Team Rector of the four churches in West Warrington in July 2017. Ordained in Chester Diocese, Jeremy has over 20 years experience of parish ministry. He was a football club chaplain for 10 years and supports Arsenal!

He is married and has two teenage children. He is also a trustee of Sabeel-Kairos , a  small Christian human rights charity promoting a  just peace in Israel-Palestine.

Lynn Parish

(Church Warden)

Lynn Parish has lived in Warrington for over 30 years and moved 4 years ago to Great Sankey with her husband. She loves music, playing the guitar, gardening, guinea pigs and Girlguiding. She is a volunteer with local Warrington, Halton & St Helens Samaritans and a Traidcraft representative buying and supporting third world products for over 40 years.

She retired early 2018 from being an Ofsted registered childminder and was elected churchwarden at St Mary’s 2017.

Ian Knight

(Assistant Church Warden)

Ian was appointed assistant churchwarden in 2017.

He has been a member of St.Mary’s since 1991 and is married to Frances, one of our church organists.

Ian attends the midweek and Sunday 8am services.

Janet Kerswell is also an assistant churchwarden at St Mary’s
