Churches Together Lent Course This will be run online this year based on material provided by York Courses called ‘Caring for Creation’. How do we as Christians respond to global warming, leading to climate change? What difference does a hope based on faith in God make to how we respond to this issue? Worshipping Safely at St Marys
Small is Beautiful
Thinking of getting married in 2021? Don’t let the size of your wedding put you off! Daniel and Rachel Sutton were married at St.Mary’s in July 2020. At the time, only twenty four guests were allowed at the church and it was touch and go as to whether the wedding would be able to take place at all, as we were only coming out of the first lockdown. But size didn’t matter to Rachel and Daniel.
Speaking of their wedding, they said: “Our biggest priority was to get married to each other in church. Of course, we would have wanted more of our families and friends to be there, but at the end of the day getting married was our main focus, and having our immediate families there was enough”.
Rev.Jeremy Tear, Pioneer Team Rector based at St.Mary’s said, “It was a great delight to have Daniel and Rachel married at St.Mary’s, one of the first church post lockdown weddings in Warrington. If you are thinking of getting married this year, don’t let the numbers of wedding guests you may or may not be able to have put you off. You can always return to church later for a celebration of your marriage with all your family and friends when circumstances change”.
If you would like to get married at St.Mary’s this year, please contact Jane Hampton our weddings co-ordinator on 07396 606323 or email stmarysweddingsankey@gmail.com

PRAYER
Prayer for the Current Coronavirus Crisis
Keep us, good Lord,
under the shadow of your mercy
in this time of uncertainty and distress.
Sustain and support the anxious and fearful,
and lift up all who are brought low;
that we may rejoice in your comfort
knowing that nothing can separate us from your love in Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen.
At St.Mary’s we have a daily cycle of prayer so that all the streets in the parish are prayed for each month,
alongside a daily topic for prayer. Please click on the link below for the prayer cycle’
