Jeremy Tear

(Pioneer Team Vicar)

St-Marys-Great-Sankey-Vicar

Jeremy was licensed as Team Vicar in September 2015 and became the Team Rector of the four churches in West Warrington in July 2017. Ordained in Chester Diocese, Jeremy has over 20 years experience of parish ministry. He was a football club chaplain for 10 years and supports Arsenal!

He is married and has two teenage children. He is also a member of Sabeel-Kairos , a  small Christian human rights charity promoting a  just peace in Israel-Palestine, and passionate about taking action to protect our planet.

Lynn Parish

(Church Warden)

Lynn Parish has lived in Warrington for over 30 years and moved 4 years ago to Great Sankey with her husband. She loves music, playing the guitar, gardening, guinea pigs and Girlguiding. She is a volunteer with local Warrington, Halton & St Helens Samaritans and a Traidcraft representative buying and supporting third world products for over 40 years.

She retired early 2018 from being an Ofsted registered childminder and was elected churchwarden at St Mary’s 2017.

Ian Knight

(Assistant Church Warden)

Ian was appointed assistant churchwarden in 2017.

He has been a member of St.Mary’s since 1991 and is married to Frances, one of our church organists.

Ian attends the midweek and Sunday 8am services.

KateForrest

(Assistant churchwarden)

Kate was appointed assistant churchwarden in 2020.

She spent nearly 40 years teaching Biology in secondary schools and also eleven years teaching adults part time in Further Education. She has also been an exam invigilator in a local school for well over 10 years.

Kate also works at Warrington Food Bank. To relax, she gardens (even in the depths of winter!) and loves Roman History. She is part of the church gardening  team and Music Group, the Gift Aid Coordinator, and occasionally sits down!
