John Taylor

(Church Warden)

John moved to Warrington 10 years ago. He has spent the last 40 years in a variety of flying roles, recently retiring from the North West Air Ambulance. He currently teaches and mentors students from Liverpool University Air Squadron who wish to have military careers.

He is married to Claire and they have a young daughter, Louisa. John enjoys running and cycling in his spare time and is a fanatical Newcastle United supporter.

Ian Knight

(Assistant Church Warden)

Ian was appointed assistant churchwarden in 2017.

He has been a member of St.Mary’s since 1991 and is married to Frances, one of our church organists.

Ian attends the midweek and Sunday 8am services.

Margaret Emsley

(Assistant Church Warden)

Margaret was appointed assistant churchwarden in 2025.

She is a civil and structural engineer who worked on construction sites before pursuing an academic career at The University of Manchester.

Margaret was a magistrate for nearly 30 years, is a current School Governor, volunteers with Parkinsons’ UK and is a long standing member of Soroptimist International, having held office at every level.

She plays on three crown green bowling teams and follows Wolverhampton Wanderers.
